25 of The Greatest Preachers of Our Time

In America, we have thousands of great Preachers and Pastors. As I compiled the list of 25 great preachers, one determinant factor is the fact that, many on the list broadcast on television, and the internet. You see these preachers on You-Tube. You can upload their materials and they have Podcast which you can access. These preachers have huge audiences across the globe. The list is located in this hub.

When you review the list, I know what you will be thinking -- "why isn't Preacher A B C on the list". I was thinking the same thing as I compiled the list -- "why didn't I include Preacher X Y Z?". I had to make a decision, otherwise there would be no hub.

Listening to Preaching at a Young Age

"Let the church say, Amen," cries the preacher. I remember growing up as a small girl around the age of eight. I sat on the pew of the church with my mother, and listened to the preacher's sermon on Sunday mornings. The preacher proclaimed the word of God with boldness and excitement. In later years, my father would be the one that I would listen to preach -- how cool is that!

One of the main job's of a preacher back many years ago was to preach a sermon to a waiting congregation. In the last couple decades, the responsibility of preachers and pastors has changed tremendously. They are multi-talented, multi-skilled and multi-gifted.

Preaching is Only The Beginning

Fast forward to now. Preachers write books, become recording artist, like Marvin Sapp and Marvin Winans. Preachers are great businessmen and women. They are the founders of christian educational institutions, and are on sophisticated boards. Preachers and pastors consult Presidents and are called upon to create peace in unrest, much like Reverend Jessie Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton.

Do all these different responsibilities get in the way of the traditional preaching of God's Holy Word? Or do these additional roles enhance the preacher? And now, women are prevalent in the ministry. You see them on television; hear them on radio and women can deliver the word of God in powerful ways. A woman's touch is refreshing, especially since she is a natural nurturer. She knows how to love people and discipline them at the same time.

Objective

My objective today is to present one of the greatest and highest offices in the land -- Preacher/Pastor. There are thousands upon thousands of preachers. The preachers' name that does not get mentioned in the media, is no less than the ones who do. There are many fine preachers and pastors that help people everyday develop and improve their life. You know them, because they are your pastors and preachers.
